We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic individual to join the Council’s Community Safety Team as a Community Protection Officer.
You will undertake high visibility patrols across the District, and ensure appropriate action is taken including proactively challenging perpetrators of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and undertaking enforcement using the Council’s delegated authority for environmental offences and Police accredited powers.
In the role you will undertake a problem solving approach to tackle ASB, environmental and nuisance related issues which affect the quality of life for Ashfield’s residents including undertaking prevention activity to stop the problems from reoccurring.
You will need a good knowledge of problem solving approaches, be able to use your initiative and have experience of working in a demanding customer facing environment. You will need to demonstrate you can develop positive working relations with partners and relate to individuals from a wide range of backgrounds. Experience of writing documents to a high standard using IT is essential.
You will need 4 GCSEs at grade A to C or equivalent including Maths and English or hold substantial experience in a relevant field.
Successful post holder will be required to undergo a criminal records check.
