SENDIASS supports young people with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) and parents or carers of children with SEND, to feel confident in engaging with professionals about their education, to feel confident in their knowledge of the law and empowered to express their views.
Our small team is looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, who enjoys working with young people and is passionate about helping them reach their potential. Experience of working with young people in an education setting and knowledge of SEND practice is highly beneficial. Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND code of Practice 2015 is essential to the role.
As a SENDIASS Officer you will be providing information, advice and support in a range of meetings and remotely on a daily basis. The role will also involve supporting the development of SENDIASS to raise accessibility and engagement with Young People with SEND in Central Bedfordshire.
Every day will be different, and each day will present its own challenges! The ability to settle quickly to the role and work under pressure to tight deadlines are a must.
