Our Team manages the finances for Adult Social Care clients that do not have the ability to do so themselves and have no-one who can provide that support. You will be joining our small, friendly and supportive team who are committed to delivering an excellent service to our clients and others involved in their care and support. You will have the opportunity to play an active part in the delivery of specific projects alongside your important and valued day to day role.
You will manage your own caseload and must have good keyboard skills, as there’s a requirement to work quickly and accurately due to the workload and financial nature of the job. Excellent problem solving skills, good organisational skills and an ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines are essential. The role requires communication with a wide variety of people at all levels, internal and external (i.e. DWP, solicitors, financial institutions, The Court of Protection, Office of the Public Guardian, social workers, care providers and managers).
Apart from being self-motivated and confident, you will have a positive attitude, be customer focused with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You must be flexible, professional and remain calm under pressure. Experience in a customer service role involving figure work is important, as is the ability to produce accurate work to agreed timescales. You will also need to have experience in keeping records and information up to date.
It’s important you can work in a small and supportive team, can work collaboratively and have compassion and have empathy for vulnerable people.
We would like you to have some knowledge/awareness of the Court of Protection Deputyship, Appointeeship, financial assessments and welfare benefits
Please note: You must have 5 x GCSE’s (or equivalent), including Math’s and English at grade C or above, which we will ask you to provide proof of.
In return we can offer you excellent training and development opportunities, flexible working and the opportunity to make a positive different to the lives of our clients.
East Sussex County Council offer a range of employee benefits including an excellent Local Government Pension Scheme, discounts on services and products, travel incentives and Employee Assistance Programme.
If this sounds like the job for you, we look forward to receiving your application.
