The new Senior Mental Health Practitioner role is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the new Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) being set up in schools in East Sussex. We will have three teams based in Bexhill and Rother, The Havens and South Downs (covering Eastbourne, Hailsham and Seaford).
You will supervise Education Mental Health Practitioners who deliver evidence-based early intervention for children and young people in schools. You will also have a small clinical caseload. Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) will play a key role in transforming the support given to children and young people with mild to moderate mental health needs in schools. The role will be working alongside community partners and helping to develop relationships with them.
We are looking for people with experience of planning and delivering group and 1:1 CBT informed interventions, and confident of supervising others in this. Previous experience does not necessarily need to be with children and young people and we encourage anyone with CBT experience to apply. Further training in CBT and supervision will be provided by the University of Sussex as part of this role.
