The Council is seeking an enthusiastic and committed professional to join our small but busy Food and Health and Safety Team.
You will be dealing with retail and commercial premises, covering business advice, food hygiene inspection, infectious disease control, investigation of food complaints and health and safety inspections/investigations.
You will have experience of working in an Environmental Health role and, ideally, a relevant degree or professional qualification. You will also be able to demonstrate that you can rise to a challenge and have a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
You will also have the opportunity to influence the development of services within the section by taking a supporting role in the formulation of policies and strategies.
You must be able to undertake out-of-hours working from time to time, have a driving licence and your own transport.
We would consider applicants that are embarking on the new Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner pathway to achieve their Chartered Status. Candidates must be EHRB registered and have met the requirements of the food competency framework but exceptional newly qualified or very soon to be qualified officers may be considered for the role.
