This is an exciting time to join Richmond and Wandsworth Councils as we continue to embed the most significant change in our homelessness duties with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
We have a number of vacancies across our teams in Richmond and Wandsworth and are looking for capable and ambitious individuals to join our service. You will be a team player who is articulate, organised and able to work under pressure to deliver a first class housing assessment service.
You will be responsible for assessing applications for Richmond and Wandsworth’s housing registers, talking to applicants about their housing options and early identification of households who may need some intervention to prevent the escalation of their housing difficulties.
You will need to have a working knowledge of housing legislation, the local and national policy context, welfare reform and statutory instruments relating to Homelessness and Social Inclusion, as well as some experience of partnership working. However, we appreciate that this may be a development opportunity for you and we will welcome applications from those that do not meet all of the essential criteria but have the ability to develop any gaps in knowledge and experience sufficiently. If you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, can build effective working relationships with key stakeholders quickly and can work on your own initiative, then we want to hear from you.
In return, we can offer you working arrangements that will enhance your work-life balance and a generous holiday allowance of 31 days plus bank holidays.
In addition, we offer a range of staff benefits such as membership of the Local Government contributory pension scheme, childcare vouchers, new technology scheme, interest-free loans on annual travel cards, discounts at many leisure activities, restaurants, shops and other establishments. A wide range of developmental opportunities is also offered.
