About the Posts:

Support Worker LAC

The Targeted Youth Support Service is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Youth Voice and Participation Team to provide Youth Voice support to Children and Young People aged predominantly 11 – 25 years who are Looked After or Care Experienced.  

The successful post holder will be employed for 12 hours per week to support structures and pathways that enable the voice and views of Looked After Children and Young People and Care Experienced service users to be considered in the development of strategies and services that affect them and their individual needs in a way that is fully participatory and independent to other statutory service providers.

You will establish and maintain informal positive and professional relationships with Children and Young People who are Looked After and Care Experienced via events and face to face sessions in schools, youth groups and outreach work whilst supporting a range of youth consultations across council services and partner organisations. The post holder will work across a variety of different settings including schools and other establishments to meet the needs of Children and Young People in their own environment.

The role will provide direct face to face support to Children and Young People who are Looked After and Care Experienced and will work alongside the Youth Voice and Participation Coordinator to support the formal and informal interface with stakeholders and decision makers. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a proven track record in engaging and motivating Children and Young People using creative informal methods and approaches.

The post operates on a 5 from 7 basis with the weekly work pattern varying to total 12 hours per week including regular evening work with Children and Young People in accordance with their needs. This post does also require some weekend work away from the Borough and work on the occasional overnight residential experience. 
 

 

Support Worker SEND

The successful post holder will be employed for 12 hours per week to support structures and pathways that enable the voice and views of SEND service users to be considered in the development of strategies and services that affect them and their individual needs in a way that is fully participatory and independent to other service providers

You will establish and maintain informal positive and professional relationships with young people with SEND via events and face to face sessions in schools, youth groups and outreach work the community whilst supporting a range of youth consultations across council services and partner organizations.
