Halton Council is looking for a qualified pest control operative to carry out pest control duties in the borough. Treatments are carried out for most pest species including rats, mice, wasps, bedbugs, ants and fleas. In addition the pest control operatives also provide the councils dog warden service. However the candidate will be provided with full training before being required to carry out this function. Pest control operatives also carry out the boroughs sewer baiting programme and work closely with Environmental Health Colleagues to address the causes and consequences of pest infestations
Candidates must be qualified pest control operatives with a minimum qualification RSPH level 2 award in pest management. Ideally candidates should also have experience of working in a commercial or local authority pest control team. Candidates must be able to work as part of a team and use their own initiative. Candidates must have a moderate level of physical fitness and they may need to access loft hatches, confined spaces and look under and behind furniture and equipment to carry out pest surveys and treatments
