To deliver these objectives, we are creating an Economic Development Team within the Place Department. The team will be responsible for delivering a new Economic Development Strategy that sets out an environmentally sustainable ten-year vison for development of the local economy over town centres, industrial areas, culture and regeneration, inward investment and business support.
We want to recruit three experienced economic development professionals to play a pivotal role in shaping and realising our plans. These roles will work on all the above subject areas to plan, mobilise, manage and deliver projects, develop new services and build strong partnerships with businesses and the community. This is a new team with lots of ambition and no two working days will be alike.
You will be experienced in local economic development from a public sector or consultancy background. You will be a team player and a great communicator. You will know how to engage with businesses and be strongly commercial in your approach. A proven project manager, you will be able to take forward smaller projects on your own and for bigger projects know how to mobilise and procure teams and how to work across council departments and disciplines to get things done.
