When it comes to property management, everyone talks about ‘big projects’. But how big? At oneSource, we’re the real thing. With us, you can take on projects with genuine scope and scale. Our portfolio covers 80 square miles and two London boroughs, and our work has a big impact on the 600,000 people we serve. Building stronger communities? Brighter futures? Better lives? It’s all here. This is bigger than big.
Senior Estates Surveyor
Grade 9 - £44,607 - £48,492pa
You’ll be a senior leader for provision and procurement of valuation and estates services across our expansive portfolio. This includes two London boroughs – Newham and Havering – as well as commercial, agricultural and operational properties. You’ll also work on a number of complex property projects and play a key role in negotiations, for example rent reviews and the granting of leases and licenses.
The role makes for diverse and challenging work. You’ll cover everything from valuations to acquisitions, disposals, contract management, reports and representing the Council at tribunals. There’s also a strategic side to the role, as you’ll help us prepare our commercial property strategy and develop new partnerships that can secure value for money and the best outcomes for our customers.
What you’ll bring to the table is significant experience across property management and valuations in a local authority setting. You’ll be equally confident providing high level advice to senior leadership, inspecting buildings or managing property negotiations. We’re also looking for people who can bring real enthusiasm and innovation to their work, inspiring others while building lasting partnerships. You’ll be a natural communicator and collaborator, a RIC registered valuer and ideally MRICS/FRICS qualified.
We’re also looking for people who can turn strategies into solid plans, get others on board and make our efforts a success. Innovation will come as second nature and form a huge part of your thinking when it comes to improving our services. We need people who are always asking ‘how will this benefit our customers?’ and have the communication and team-building skills to inspire others and bring plans to life. As you push our standards higher and higher, you’ll also instil integrity and true diversity across our teams, respecting others and expecting the same in return.
