Principal Estates Surveyor
Grade 10 - £49,464 - £53,544
You’ll be our go-to senior leader for provision and procurement of valuation and estates services across our expansive portfolio. This includes two London boroughs – Newham and Havering – as well as commercial, agricultural and operational properties. You’ll play a key role on a strategic level, giving expert advice to other Council members and deputising for our Commercial Property Manager & Head of Property when needed.
On top of this, you’ll take the lead on a number of complex property and estates projects, covering everything from initial planning to key decision-making and stakeholder management. Balancing financial objectives with community wealth building is a crucial part of the role, so contract negotiation and developing new partnerships will underpin your project work, helping us achieve high standards of service and the best outcomes for our customers.
What you’ll bring to the table is significant experience across property management and valuations in a local authority setting. You’ll be equally confident providing high level advice to senior leadership, inspecting buildings or handling complex property negotiations. We’re also looking for people who can bring real enthusiasm and innovation to their work, inspiring others while building lasting partnerships. You’ll be a natural communicator and collaborator, and an RICS registered valuer.
