Job Title:Senior Rehabilitation Officer
Location:Countywide with bases at Hemel Hempstead and Stevenage
Salary Range:£34,788 progressing to £38,813 pa (Plus £1,000 welcome payment up to £6,000 relocation package and lease car *terms apply)
Hours:37 hours per week
This is an exciting opportunity to join Hertfordshire County Council’s Sensory Services, based at Apsley, Hemel Hempstead and Farnham House, Stevenage.
Due to expansion, we are looking for a second Senior Rehabilitation Officer to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team of 20, whose focus is on enabling individuals with visual impairments, hearing loss and deafblind to achieve optimum control of their lives, through the process of rehabilitation.
Holding a professional qualification i.e.: Diploma/ Foundation degree in Rehabilitation studies (Visual Impairment), you will have significant experiences of working with adults and children with visual impairment including those with additional disabilities/ support needs. You must be registered with RWPN and/or Habilitation VI UK (formerly MISE).
You will be enthusiastic, proactive individual and expected to have excellent verbal and written communication skills; a sound grasp of Adult Social Care and the Children’s Legislation, a firm grasp of Safeguarding policies, have a sound working knowledge of this service user group which includes children and adults with sensory needs who require community care support. You will have a good track record of partnership working with the Independent, Voluntary Sector and other statutory agencies.
Working with the current Senior Rehabilitation Officer, you will be expected to work collaboratively and build professional trusting relationships with service users, their carers and other organisations. With excellent communication skills you will contribute to the development of services and looking at ways to improve the customer journey experiences.
You will have demonstrable experience of staff supervision, mentoring and coaching staff, in managing complex cases and the ability to hold a small caseload of highly complex cases. You will be confident in working closely with service users, colleagues and autonomously managing a diverse case load, meetings and lead on projects.
You will be expected to travel county-wide for meetings and community visits; therefore a full UK Driving Licence is essential.
