What are we looking for?
An experienced senior commercial property lawyer with a background in all aspects of commercial property work. You will have a good knowledge of commercial property law together with a commercial approach to all areas of your work. A willingness to be proactive is essential. Previous local government experience is not essential but would be an advantage.
What is the role?
You will be part of a property team within Legal Services who work closely with the surveyors in the Corporate Assets Department as well as other departments.
The post requires excellent communication skills. It involves a varied caseload involving commercial landlord and tenant matters, development and regeneration projects. The role will involve working closely with a range of departments across the council including providing advice to members.
You will need a good working knowledge and awareness of developments in relevant areas of law, the ability to maintain good working relationships and be able to promote and maintain effective working practices, whilst complying with the highest practice standards as embedded in our LEXCEL accreditation.
