An opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated individual to undertake a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship within the Children's Services Safeguarding Unit located in Eastbourne and for the Communication, Planning and Performance team located in Lewes at East Sussex County Council. 

The Children's Services Safeguarding Unit (CSU), have a team of Independent Reviewing Officers (IROs) that chair the Looked After Children statutory review meetings and the Child Protection Advisors (CPAs) that chair the Child Protection Conferences.   The Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) sits within the Safeguarding Unit and deals with the management of allegations against staff who work or volunteer with Children and Young People.

The Children’s Services Communication, Planning and Performance division spans a range of teams including: Information Governance - supporting both the department and schools to meet Data Protection requirements; and equality, participation and engagement – promoting the voice of children and young people in planning and commissioning through the management of the East Sussex Youth Cabinet and other youth voice vehicles.

Our administrators play a key role in supporting the Council, helping us to provide a better service to the people of East Sussex. It is fast-paced and varied, but we will make sure that you get all the training and support you need to succeed.

Whilst working you will also study towards and complete a Business and Administration Level 3 qualification with a training provider and have a mentor or supervisor in the work place to support you.  You will be given the opportunity to learn and train alongside experienced staff and to gain experience in Microsoft Office applications, organising meetings and events, creating reports, cleansing information and general office administration.
