The Council’s Corporate Improvement Programme drives the Council’s change agenda and also plays a pivotal role in delivering our Medium Term Financial Strategy.
In order to support all the activities carried out by the Corporate Programme Office – and more specifically in the work of the Customer First Program Board and the Customer First Project Group – we are now looking for a Principal Policy Officer to join the team on a fixed term basis for 12 months (funding limited project).
You should ideally be educated to degree level or have compensatory experience. You must be an experienced project manager preferably with an understanding of programme management too. You will require excellent written and numerical skills since the post will necessitate report writing and financial analysis. You must be confident and capable of working under minimal supervision, and be able to work under significant pressure on a number of projects at the same time.
You will be working directly with senior elected Members and senior officers across the Council and will need to be confident in negotiating timelines and resourcing issues at this level.
