Accountant/Senior Accountant Fixed term contract for up to 1 year to cover maternity leave Salary from £33,465 to £45,330 pa – depending on skills and experience

Ashford Borough Council’s housing department is a key area and requires dedicated finance support. Essentially you will be the financial lead on Housing projects, closure of accounts Budget setting and monitoring. The Housing Revenue Account running a 30 year Business Plan (financial plan) that you will be responsible for managing and updating.
This is a career-graded post; the salary is dependent on an assessment of skills and experience you bring to the post, as referred to in the job description and person specification.
We are looking for a candidate that can communicate effectively and demonstrate you have a strong background in Accounting or Pubic Sector Housing Finance. Are you AAT, or part/fully qualified Accountant (CCAB/CIMA). Alternatively, do you have extensive relevant experience in Public Sector Housing Accounting?
At the top end of the salary grade, you will be the finance lead for a service with the provision of complex business advice and guidance on financial matters and support to service managers where it is essential that you have CCAB or CIMA qualification.
In all cases you will have experience in:
- Preparation of Final Accounts
- Revenue Budgeting
- Budget monitoring
