More about the role:

We have an opportunity to join the Bedfordshire Local Resilience Forum (BLRF) as an Administrator. This is an excellent opportunity, suitable for either an experienced administrator or someone looking to start off in the world of emergency planning and resilience. The BLRF is a partnership bringing together all the agencies and services that will work together during an emergency in Bedfordshire. This includes the emergency services, local authorities, utility providers and the health sector.

The BLRF works to deliver the statutory duties required by the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.  Ensuring our area is fully prepared in the event of an emergency.  It also creates stronger communities through emergency volunteering and strives to protect the vulnerable. 

The purpose of the job is to work with all partners to provide the administrative functions for BLRF examples of this include:-

  • Organising and administering meetings, task and finish groups and projects as required with the partnership (including attending, minute taking, developing action lists and ensuring actions are complete by their owners on time)
  • To organise and administer a programme of training and other events designed by planning leads
  • Liaise with officers from partner organisations in a professional manner via email, telephone and face to face to foster and maintain positive partnership relations

This administrative role is critical to the running of the partnership – enabling it to operate as effectively as possible. We are looking for candidates with strong, demonstrable administrative skills, such as: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Good MS Office skills including extensive use of outlook, including diary management, word and excel.
  • Minute taking skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work on your own and take on projects after being provided with a full briefing.

Following appointment to this role you will be required to obtain security clearance.
