About the job

This is a part-time position, working 18 hours per week. The salary advertised will be pro-rated.

The role is based in the Cash Systems team in the Revenues Service under Exchequer Services. The Cash Systems Officer supports the Council by ensuring monies received are banked and reconciled and the payment kiosk is operational. In addition to the below: • Carry out all cash office processes to ensure tasks are completed and cash is handled securely
• Open and close cash office securely
• Prepare, reconcile and lodge cash and cheques
• Reconcile bank statements
• Carry out the day to day operation of the kiosk machine in accordance with security and office procedures
• Ensure cash is handled securely with security staff. Process transactions using the cash receipting software and reconcile totals posted
• Take appropriate action to obtain missing Payment files by liaising with ICT and banks
• Income teams where appropriate
• Test functionality prior to upgrades or changes in functionality
• Resolve basic and complicated cash office enquiries
• Maintain and manage cash floats


About the person

At entry level suitable candidates will have excellent numeracy and communication skills and must be able to work as part of a team. Being familiar with various software packages and IT literate is a vital. Candidates must have an eye for detail and be able to undertake cash handling, banking and reconciliation duties.

The vacancy is for 18 hours per week worked as a 36 hours fortnight: - Week one would be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 3 full days.- Week two would be Thursday and Friday, 2 full days.
