The Shared Finance Service was established in April 2017 and provides financial services to the London Borough of Sutton and the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames. We have many customers including, front-line Council services, Councillors, residents, Council owned companies, businesses and partner organisations from other sectors. We deliver professional accountancy and financial management, commercial advice and expert analysis, innovative finance operations and financial inclusion services for vulnerable residents.

About the role
This role is to provide specialist advice, accounting, financial challenge and guidance for the Housing Revenue Account at Kingston. It will also have responsibility for providing client side oversight on behalf of the S151 Officer to the Sutton HRA, which is managed by the finance team within Sutton Housing Partnership. You will work as part of the Commercial Finance and Investments team to develop a centre of expertise for HRA finance including capacity to deliver commercially sound financial modelling as part of our business planning.
To succeed in this role you will be an HRA expert with detailed knowledge and experience of supporting the Housing Landlord function at a similar sized authority. You will be comfortable acting as a business partner and have the technical capabilities to develop robust long term financial forecasts and sustainable budget plans. You will be an excellent communicator who is able to work collaboratively with senior officers and Councillors to develop Housing strategies and achieve corporate and service objectives. You will lead by example to embed our values and act as part of the Senior Leadership tier of the finance service to develop a collaborative, joined up, finance team.
