About the role

Working as the integrated Transformation Support Unit's PMO Manager for Health and Care, this role will work across and on behalf of Surrey Heartlands Health and Care Partnership, with line management through Surrey County Council.

Surrey Heartlands Health & Care Partnership is among the first wave of Integrated Care Systems across England and the second with a devolution deal. Surrey Heartlands serves over 1 million people within the areas of East Surrey, Guildford and Waverley, North West Surrey and Surrey Downs and accounts for over 85% of the overall Surrey population. Surrey Heartlands has a combined health revenue allocation of over £1.5bn and combined social care and public health budget of £317m. Our partnership organisations across the health and care sector work together to make decisions about how to use their collective resources to meet standards and improve the health and social outcomes of the population they serve.

In order to deliver our system ambitions, response to the 5 year NHS Long Term Plan, and Surrey Health and Wellbeing Strategy, Surrey Heartlands has established an integrated Transformation Support Unit (iTSU), which is the engine room for facilitating change across partnership organisations. It is responsible for providing oversight, direction and assurance to a wide range of transformation programmes across multiple services varied in terms of their subject matter and end goals. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to; Mental Health, Children's Services, Adult Social Care, Highways and IT & Digital.

This unit will be hosted by Surrey County Council on behalf of the partnership.

We are therefore looking for an experienced PMO Manager to help shape and define a portfolio of transformation projects identified to support meeting the strategic ambitions of the partnership.

The PMO manager will be responsible for the effective setup and running of the programme management office. They will ensure efficient and effective co-ordination of activities, governance, reporting and resourcing.

The post holder will help promote and deliver best practice for projects and change, specifically increasing capability and delivery performance of the project teams. They will drive a consistent approach to project management including tools, templates and methodologies.
