The Public Protection Partnership (PPP) is one of the largest regulatory service units in the region. With over 100 staff based across four locations the PPP is an intelligence led organisation delivering Trading Standards, Environmental Health and Licensing services to around 450K people over three local authority areas. As well as staff from all public protection disciplines we have our own intelligence unit, financial investigation unit and case management team of lawyers.
Given the size and complexity of the service a decision has been taken to develop the new post of Business Manager. Reporting to the Strategic Manager – Case Management and Governance the post holder will perform an important role supporting the service management team on matters relating to HR, contractor and consultant engagement, asset management, accommodation, health and safety and contract issues such as procurement. The post holder will also provide cover for the PA to the Public Protection Manager and the Joint Management Board.
The successful candidate will have a good standard of education to a minimum of A Levels or equivalent. You will also need to be able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the workings of local authorities. A relevant qualification or experience in a related discipline such as HR or local authority accountancy would be a distinct advantage. This is a good opportunity for the successful candidate to play a role in the delivery of a large and complex shared service.
