Gravesham Borough Council is looking to appoint a Senior Local Taxation Officer who is experienced at working in a Council Tax and Business Rates environment. Reporting to the Revenues Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and mentoring Revenues Officers and Inspectors as well as for the day to day running of the Revenues and Inspectors Teams, for billing and collection of amounts due for Council Tax and Business Rates, including the dispatch of related notices and inspection of properties.
The applicant should be highly motivated and enthusiastic to join the Revenues Team within the Revenues & Benefits Section.
The applicant should have experience of working and supervising in a Revenues environment and ideally experience of supervising staff in Council Tax, Business Rates and Inspections. It is essential that you are organised, have the ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines, meet challenging targets and are a good team worker.
Strong IT and customer care skills and a commitment to confidentiality are essential.
