The London Borough of Newham Council's FleetCare team provide all the Service and Maintenance for the Councils fleet of 400 plus vehicles and plant.
We also provide a service for a number of external customers, including fleet operators and members of the general public.
Our aim and goal is to ensure vehicle downtimes are at a minimum, also ensuring a quality service at a best value for money cost.
2 X Commercial Vehicle Fitter
£29,766 - £30,711 pa.
The London Borough of Newham Council require Commercial Vehicle Fitters to inspect, service and repair light to heavy goods vehicles and plant, to complete all work in an effective and economic manner, to meet both Council standards and legal requirements as laid down by the Department of Transport.
Hours of work are between 6am and 8pm although you will predominately work either 6am till 2.12pm or 11.48am to 8pm, you may on occasions have to change your hours to the needs of the service.
We can also provide transport to collect your tools.
You will need to hold a level 3 NVQ in Motor mechanics or equivalent
Extensive previous experience in all aspects of vehicle repairs and maintenance, LGV. HGV experience would be an advantage.
Experience of both hydraulic, electrical systems and modern vehicle technology would also be an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided.
Hold a current valid car driving license (a Cat C license would be an advantage)
