We have vacancies in the following Children's Homes:-

  • Warwick House in Acocks Green, full-time working 35 hours per week,
  • Camborne House in Aston, full-time working 35 hours per week
  • Charles House in Rednal, one full-time working 35 hours per week one part-time working 25 hours per week.

Shifts are usually 10 hours so 35 hours would be 3 nights one week and 4 nights the following week. 

 

Birmingham children’s Trust are looking for enthusiastic and committed members of staff to provide support and care to young people with disabilities who are staying at the home.  You will support children overnight with bedtimes, personal care and getting up in the morning, and be committed to the rights of young people. 

You will have effective communication and counselling skills, coupled with an understanding of the needs and rights of young people who are looked after.  The ability to work shifts, including some weekends as part of a rota to include public holidays is essential.

Our Residential Service comprises of four Children’s Homes that offer a range of short breaks and long term residential care for disabled children aged between 5 and 18 years.  The Service provides care for children with learning disabilities including Autism; they may also display associated challenging behaviour and have health conditions that need managing.

Our long-term service offers a supportive environment where children can mature into adulthood, whether it is moving on to independence or transitioning into adult care.

Our short break service gives families a break from caring and children a caring environment which is fun and exciting to stay.

You will also support the staff team to deliver safe and quality services that promote the welfare of children, young people and their families.

As well as the above, you will support the Home/Deputy Manager in identified tasks of the homes management.
