Do you want to make a difference? You have an exciting opportunity to be part of our Regulatory Services section within the Neighbourhoods Team. You will be part of a team delivering a quality service to residents, on issues that are often complex and can have a negative impact on quality of life.
We are looking for a highly motivated, professional Environmental Health Officer/Practitioner, who is skilled in the effective use of our powers under the Housing Act 2004 and the Housing and Planning Act 2016. As part of the Neighbourhoods Team you will also be involved in their wider activities including waste regulation, fly-tipping, littering, nuisance, pest control and parking. You will be expected to deputise and support the management functions of the Principal Environmental Health Officer.
Applicants will have an excellent working knowledge of private sector housing legislation and proven experience in a housing enforcement capacity. We are looking for the person with the skills and qualities needed to make optimum use of civil penalties, rent repayment orders and licensing powers to improve conditions and make a real and lasting difference to people’s lives.
Applicants will have a degree/diploma in Environmental Health and ideally be EHRB registered. Full support will be given for those working towards the completion of their portfolio of professional practice (PPP). Part-time/job share work may be considered for the suitable applicant.
