About the role
The My Helpdesk Team offers a front line service to all Surrey County Council employees as well as external colleagues and customers. Enquiries are dealt with by telephone, e-mail, fax and face-to-face.
This role sits in the part of the team that handles enquiries on all aspects of HR, including Payroll, Recruitment and Training. During busier periods there will be an opportunity to support the wider Helpdesk which incorporates the My Helpdesk Finance and My Helpdesk Pensions Teams.
We are seeking a candidate that always puts the customer first and can demonstrate excellent customer service skills. The successful candidate will work efficiently and thrive in a varied and fast paced working environment.
You will be required to have a basic understanding of HR procedures however, this role provides an excellent opportunity to gain further knowledge and experience of a broader range of work areas and an insight into how different teams work.
You will be working as part of a well-supported, friendly team. You will be taken through a 6 week training programme and given the tools to work independently to allow you to deliver excellent service and support to our customers. You will also be given the opportunity to attend further training as part your ongoing development.
To be shortlisted to interview your CV will clearly evidence:
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience of providing high levels of customer care and professionalism to members of the public
- Good IT skills and experience of using databases to a high standard of accuracy
- Ability to work effectively and flexibly and as part of a team
- An understanding of HR procedures is desirable but not essential
This is a six month fixed term contract with the opportunity for the contract to be extended.
