Due to growing demand for our meeting and event space, we are looking to recruit a Hospitality Assistant to work within our Hospitality Team. The post holder will work with the team to find new and innovative ways to deliver our hospitality offer across a number of buildings throughout the district.
This job offers an exciting opportunity to develop event coordination skills and work with a variety of internal and external clients. Working closely with the facilities support team, we provide a service across Lancaster City Council venues whilst building upon opportunities within our commercial assets. You would be liaising with local and national businesses to grow the reputation and offer available to the district. Our events range from exhibitions and conferences, to weddings and concerts; we always strive to deliver the best customer service; and attention to detail is incredibly important. Therefore, experience within the Hospitality industry would be beneficial and enthusiasm is essential.
The hours of work are 30 hours per week, on a shift rota basis, over 5 out of 7 days. This may include evenings, weekends or bank holidays, to suit the needs of the business.
This post is based at Lancaster Town Hall. However, a full current UK driving licence is essential, as the post holder will be required to travel between sites in order to deliver our hospitality offer.

You may be required to undertake Standby duties to cover out of hours work.
Earlier this year Lancaster City Council unanimously declared a climate emergency and will therefore work towards reducing carbon emissions to net-zero by 2030. As part of this role, you will be expected to participate and work towards reducing carbon emissions.
Please note the Council is currently reviewing its pay and grading structure and the salary may be subject to change.
