We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our Housing Needs and Standards team as a Specialist Advisor for Rough Sleeping (Housing Solutions).
Housing Needs and Standards is focused on the prevention of homelessness, and as a Specialist Advisor you will take on a pivotal role supporting the various rough sleeping pathways and helping to get our applicants off the street and into sustainable solutions that meet their needs. You will be part of a team dedicated to providing innovative joint-working solutions for people who find themselves homeless, and you will work on an assertive outreach basis in order to support our most vulnerable clients.
You will be offering support, advice and guidance to homeless applicants who are rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping. You will responsible for your own caseload, as well as advising other colleagues to resolve cases of varying complexity, working closely in partnership with a range of statutory and voluntary agencies.

To be successful you will be a good communicator and able to build strong working relationships with internal and external partners. You will also need an eye for detail, have good investigation, critical thinking and decision making skills and be able to adapt and manage a demanding workload.
Knowledge and experience in housing options and homelessness are essential, as is a thorough working knowledge of the relevant Acts, experience of working directly with rough sleepers, effective joint working with partners and a focus on positive solutions.
You will be required to work from our Lewes, Eastbourne and Newhaven offices, as well as conduct outreach visits, subject to the needs of the service.
