Huddersfield Town is already a successful future High Street Fund town, and Dewsbury has been selected for Town Fund Status. We have already launched two major master plans for the two towns, the Huddersfield Blueprint which is a 10 year plan to regenerate Huddersfield Town Centre to allow businesses to thrive and enhance the public spaces, and Dewsbury Riverside Master Plan which is looking at develop the town centre and support the 4,000 new homes that we are promoting in the area.
This role provides opportunities to work on high profile projects related to these plans in particular our proposals for a new market, a new music venue an upgrade to the train station and a whole host of public realm and other works. We want to build our success from last year and concentrate on delivering our vision. You will be joining us at an exciting time and you will have the opportunity to shape the town centre regeneration team for the future
With a focus on Town Centres, your main duties will be to:
- Influence, oversee and deliver a programme of investment in Huddersfield Town Centre
- Lead on projects and funding bids
- Lead and manage one of our newly created Town Centre Regeneration Teams
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Help shape the future of the Service
Ideally, we are looking for someone who has:
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent project management skills
- A background in town centres, regeneration and/or planning
- Proven track record of delivering on significant programmes and/or projects
