About the role

Are you an existing Executive Assistant looking for your next step? This could be exactly what you are looking for!

Surrey is 'coming of age' as it transforms into a new style of council. We are undertaking significant fast-paced improvement across the council to ensure a more cost effective organisation that focuses on the best possible outcomes for the people of Surrey as outlined in our Community Vision for Surrey in 2030.

To support this work we are looking to recruit an outstanding Executive Assistant / Strategic Coordinator to provide executive support and project management on a variety of high profile work.

Under the direction of the Chief of Staff and working closely with fellow Business Managers this roles will provide a direct link between the Corporate Leadership Team, Cabinet and wider democratic services putting you at the very heart of the Council.

Alongside giving strategic support and briefing to the Executive Director(s) you will work with, the role will be responsible for providing meeting support to a range of boards and large-scale events (often involving partnership organisations), developing agendas in line with priorities, facilitating group work, coordinating work programmes, working across directorates on special projects, bringing forward items for discussion, and tracking progress against agreed actions.

It may not be surprising then that we are looking for candidates who can evidence brilliant organisational, prioritising, and project management skills combined with a natural ability and flair for communication, networking and building strong working relationships that support getting the job done. You will need to feel at home working proactively as part of a team and independently in a fast paced and dynamic environment with a complex landscape of work.

If you are motivated by work that keeps you on your toes, is different every single day and believe you have the experience and skills we are looking for then we really want to hear from you.

For more information please refer to the role profile attached at the bottom of this advert- we look forward to hearing from you!
