(P00994)

£21,362 - £29,739 inclusive of outer fringe allowance per annum
37 hours per week

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council are committed to becoming the best planning authority in Hertfordshire. To achieve this, we’re seeking driven and ambitious planners, who really want to leave their mark on the garden city. As part of this vision, we currently have an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Planning and Enforcement Officer.

In this role, you’ll enjoy the challenge of working in a small but busy team, with opportunities to work on both rural and urban projects.  You will have primary responsibility for managing your own case load of applications and enforcement investigations, which will include dealing with complaints arising under planning legislation and the Estate Management Scheme, carrying out site inspections, dealing with requests, complaints and enquires received, compile and update comprehensive enforcement records and attend appeals and court as and when required.

To be successful in this role, you will need excellent communication skills and be able to work in an ordered and logical way. Along with front line customer service experience, you will need excellent IT skills and be flexible to support the service. You will also need a full driving licence and access to a car.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.

The deadline for applications is 9 February 2020.

Assessments and Interviews will be held on 20 February 2020.
