Principal Public Health Intelligence Specialist: Population health management - North Central London Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (NCL STP)
Camden and Islington Public Health is a unique public health service that forms a key part of both Councils, and leads the way in improving the health and wellbeing of both boroughs’ populations and reducing health inequalities.
More recently, we have taken a lead role on the development of the content of North Central London’s population health management platform, Cerner’s HealtheIntent. This platform will be joining up the health and care records across the 1.5 million population within the five boroughs of North London and will provide a unique opportunity to improve health and care outcomes for individuals as well as specific populations. It will represent a step change in how data and analysis can be used to support frontline health and care professionals in their work.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our established specialist public health intelligence and knowledge team within the public health department, but with a specific remit to work within the NCL STP’s HealtheIntent programme team to support the development of analytics.
Within this role, you will work within a team of analysts of diverse and complementary skills and experience from across the system, with the HealtheIntent programme team which comprises a range of different specialists from the NHS, local authorities, and Cerner (the supplier), and with a range of different health and care professionals from across the 22 health and care organisations within NCL. Working with the lead analyst and following engagement with key stakeholders, you will be responsible for designing, developing and testing the analytical dashboards we build within HealtheIntent. You will also support other analysts in this work, managing small teams of analysts from different backgrounds to develop dashboards and other deliverables to support frontline health and care professionals. You will also be responsible for providing training and support to colleagues and teams across the system to use the analytics.
This role would suit someone who has experience of working in population health analysis, and provide an excellent opportunity to develop your analytical and managerial skills. You will need to be good at working with a number of different people from different organisations and with different knowledge and skills. You will have an MSc in epidemiology or statistics or similar, and a strong interest in these subjects. More information about the role and the requirements can be found in the job description.
Following shortlisting, the selection process will comprise of a population health intelligence test, followed by a 45 minute interview. We anticipate that interviews will take place the week commencing 27 January 2020, though full details will be communicated to shortlisted candidates after the closing date of the job advert.
