Surrey Registration Service are recruiting 4 professional and self-motivated Ceremonies Registrars to join our friendly team.
Surrey County Council is one of the largest and most dynamic local authorities in the UK, serving a population of 1.2 million residents. The Surrey Registration Service is responsible for the registration of 3,500 civil marriages and partnerships occurring in the county of Surrey each year.
We have one permanent role available for 100 annualised hours per year with a salary of £1,353, based from Guildford Register Office 42 Portsmouth Road GU2 4DZ.
We have 3 bank roles available with no minimum fixed hours with a salary of £13.53 per hour.

The Surrey Registration service is split into two areas, ceremonies and births & deaths .
We are delighted to announce that we need to recruit new team members for the Surrey Ceremonies.
These positions deal with the ceremonial side only, i.e. all the duties around registering & conducting legal civil ceremonies at a variety of licensed premises in Surrey as well as the Register Offices in Guildford, Leatherhead and Weybridge. These licensed ceremony rooms and licensed wedding venues vary and can be hotels, barns and country houses spread around the county.
The work required is quite seasonal as the majority of weddings take place in the summer with the most popular day being a Saturday. We do expect you to be available 3 out of 4 weekends during these months. You must be able to work weekdays, weekends and bank holidays
You will be given full training in order to undertake these duties. You will need to have a smart professional appearance, have a real love of working with the public and have excellent customer care skills. You will be a real "people person" with the ability to create a good connection with all sorts of people, quickly.
You will also need clear and legible handwriting and the ability to retain a high level of accuracy under pressure.
You will also need to be patient, tactful and diplomatic, as well as having good public speaking skills. You will need to enjoy working independently and as part of a team and be able to communicate well with couples, team members and our venue partners.
You need to have the ability to travel independently around the county. A full UK driving licence or EEA member state equivalent is essential for this post as well. You will need to have use of a car.
