Waltham Forest is growing faster than any other borough in London and has recently wrapped up a successful year as the London Borough of Culture 2019. The Borough aims to build 12,000 new homes by 2020, creating great places to live and supporting the vibrant local economy. One of the main ways the Council aims to meet this target is through the Council’s wholly owned development company, Sixty Bricks Ltd.
Sixty Bricks Ltd was set up in 2017 to make a purposeful difference, providing housing solutions and opportunities for those across Waltham Forest who need access to affordable housing. Sixty Bricks will be offering a wide range of homes, for social rent, part ownership or purchase. With the first 500 homes currently on site, the team is set to rapidly expand in order to deliver the next round of housing development sites, totalling another 500 homes.
This role is for one of the key positions within the Sixty Bricks Team. The successful candidate will be appointed as a permanent Council employee and seconded for a minimum of 1 year to the Sixty Bricks Team.
As the Finance Manager you will lead the budget preparation process and support the Sixty Bricks delivery team to; manage the overall programme budget, individual project budgets, monitoring of expenditure, transactions and grant commitments.
A large part of the role will be reviewing project viability appraisals. The successful candidate should have experience using development finance tools such as ProVal to test and measure project viability.
