The council is seeking to appoint an experienced individual to lead on all operational matters relating to its in house waste collection services and to manage the waste team. You’ll be responsible for the delivery of a range of customer focused waste collection services including domestic, recycling, trade and clinical waste, collating waste data returns and for maintaining an effective working partnership with the council’s agency staff provider. You’ll also be responsible for the health and safety management system applicable to waste services.
Using your knowledge and excellent communication and interpersonal skills you’ll direct, motivate and develop the waste team and work corporately to maintain existing high levels of customer and resident satisfaction with waste collection services. You’ll also be experienced in service planning and performance management and be able to identify and lead on projects aimed at improving service quality. You’ll possess demonstrable team management skills and an ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues across the council. You will also possess a confident and diplomatic manner when dealing with members of the public.
