Could you be Maidstone Borough Council’s Procurement and Contract Management expert?
We are seeking a CIPS qualified procurement professional to lead our Procurement and Contracts team and embed good procurement and contract management practices across the council. This role will help us create a culture of high quality commissioning and procurement.
Your extensive procurement experience might have been gained in the public or private sector, but you must have an excellent understanding of the commissioning cycle, including the principles of good contract management and market development. Ideally you will be an experienced manager; you will certainly have good people management and leadership skills, as well as the ability to deliver excellent customer service and advice to your internal clients. You will be able to build good working relationships with others, working closely with clients and colleagues in other corporate teams to ensure services are well designed, well procured and that contracts are well managed.
As with all our roles, we expect that you will be able to communicate clearly and concisely. You’ll also be dynamic and creative, able to lead effective and innovative procurements that deliver value for money and the best outcomes for our customers and residents.
