Client Project Manager
Grade MM2 (£46,791 - £59,850)
To provide a dedicated client project management function for the delivery of the Council’s Schools Capital projects including but not limited to the Schools Expansions and Capital Fire Safety and Maintenance Programmes in the Schools & Children’s Services (People) portfolio. Responsibility for the effective management of partnerships both internal and external, which ensure the capital programme delivers high quality outcomes which contribute transforming learning in schools and provide good value for money for the Council.
The role will sit within the School’s Capital Delivery Team. Line management will rest with the Head of Capital Commissioning reporting to the Schools Capital Programme Lead and ultimately to Assistant Director of Education.
The combined School’s capital programme has a confirmed Central Government grant allocation at circa £20 million per annum. Each Capital Delivery Manager will be allocated individual capital projects with budgets between £50k up to but not limited to £11m and a range of other major funding streams linked to the successful delivery of an ever increasing number of high value and high profile national and local education initiatives.
Be responsible for the commissioning and managing a range of consultants to carry out specific projects within the schools’ capital programme. Monitoring project budgets at different stages of development and implementation.
Be required to collate budget monitoring information from relevant sources (cross departmental) and report any variations in planned budget spend to the programme manager and Council managers if the programme manager requires
