Town Planning interns wanted at Wokingham Borough Council, Berkshire, starting September 2020. Are you looking for the first step in your planning career? Wokingham is an attractive, historic market town with many conservation areas and listed buildings. It is located in the prosperous Thames Valley, 40 miles west of London and only 10 minutes by train into Reading.
The Council has an ambitious growth agenda with thousands of new homes proposed over the coming years. We are offering 12 month internships which would suit anyone with an undergraduate degree in Planning, Geography or a related subject. We are looking for graduates with excellent IT and communication skills and a customer focused approach.
There are a number of places within different planning teams and an intention to rotate the successful applicants around the teams. You will have the opportunity to learn how to validate planning applications, process small scale applications, investigate breaches of planning control and assist with major infrastructure projects all within a supportive and friendly office environment.
A full driving licence and access to a car is desirable. Interviews will take place in February and Skype interviews available for those living some distance away.
