Salary Range: £34,788 - £42,683 pa
Hours: 37 per week

Hertfordshire has a population of over one million, directly borders one of the biggest cities in the world, has the fifth highest car ownership in the country and has a congestion problem which costs the UK economy over £0.4bn per annum.
Our Local Transport Plan 4 has recently been adopted. The core feature of the plan is to do more to improve conditions for sustainable modes such as walking, cycling and passenger transport and prioritise these above car users.
We are looking for a Strategy and Programme Manager to develop programmes of transport strategies and schemes that will enable the county to respond to our transport challenges, proposed growth and the new Local Transport Plan agenda. The work in the Highways unit provides a broad range of transport planning experience and the opportunity to use and develop a wide range of technical skills including project and financial management, marketing and communications, plan development, working in a political organisation and public engagement.
We are looking for self-motivated and enthusiastic individuals with project management experience and a knowledge of democratic processes, transport planning and scheme development to help us deliver these transport schemes to ensure that residents and visitors are able to travel across the county in the most sustainable way.
