More about the role:

The purpose of this role is to provide guidance and support for care staff up to and including the Home Manager. You’ll be vital in supporting the day to day running of the home, acting as a champion for residents’ safety, dignity and wellbeing. You will work to inspire, lead  and be part of a team of carers and as a representative of Central Bedfordshire council, ensure the core values and beliefs are at the heart of everything you do. We want every individual we support to get the highest standard of care possible. By giving older people control in the quality of their life, we’re making Central Bedfordshire a great place to live for all. As a Deputy Manager, you’ll be working directly with an experienced Home Manager in the day to day, as well as customers across the county. You’ll find your greatness as you make sure vulnerable people are safe, well and happy.

For this role, you’ll feel comfortable in taking lead, to maintain the highest level of care, and in the absence of a manger, to be able to take the responsibility of the day to day running of the care home, ensuring policies, procedures and legal requirements are met.

You will have great communication and people skills. But above all, you’ll be a natural carer. While an NVQ 4 OR 5 is desirable, experience caring for people is more important and we can help you work towards the qualification – so as you’re helping others, you’ll also be getting qualified

Join us, and you will have the chance to build your skills with high quality training. Even better, you’ll find your greatness by taking care of older people and enhancing their wellbeing.  At Central Bedfordshire Council, we’re passionate about having a workforce that reflects our community. It’s why we’re committed to creating equal opportunities, so that we always embrace diversity.

Central Bedfordshire Council has its own vision and values that are integral to everything we do. Our area vision is to make Central Bedfordshire 'A great place to live and work'.
