Salary: Social Worker Level 1: £27,347 - £29,897 per annum pro rata + MRS £5,100 per annum pro rata
Social Worker Level 2: £30,744 - £32,220 per annum pro rata + MRS £5,150 per annum pro rata
Contract: 2 x Fixed Term Contract/ Secondment - up to 12 Months
Hours: 37 hours per week
Base Location: Priory House, Shefford

Being a Fostering Social Worker is an important and rewarding role. You’ll be part of a dedicated team with an excellent record of recruiting and supporting foster carers. You’ll make sure that each Foster Carer understands their role and responsibilities, meeting them monthly and making sure they feel valued. By monitoring each carer closely, you’ll make sure they’re coping and meeting children’s needs – particularly those who exhibit challenging behaviour.
It's essential that you are a qualified Social Worker who is HCPC registered. You will know about statutory social work practice and completing complex assessments and ideally have experience of working in a supervisory role in a Fostering Agency before.
Experience of using a wide range of social work techniques with children and families will also be of benefit. Your technical talents should come with a calm, organised approach. You will be supporting others in a crisis and using your initiative to solve issues. You will also have the communication skills to present high quality reports to panels and work with other agencies. You will also need sound IT skills too and be a capable professional.
