More about the Role:

At Westlands we want every resident in our care home to participate and enjoy a good meal and have a good an excellent mealtime  experience. By giving older people a good quality of life and a nutritious and wholesome meal we're making Central Bedfordshire a great place to live for all. As a the Chef Manager , you will be working directly with a small team of support staffs and our residents in Leighton Buzzard and you'll find your greatness as you make sure vulnerable people are safe, well fed and happy.

 

This is an important role for which you will receive our full support, including full training and induction. Your main task will be to provide wholesome and tasty meals to the residents whilst ensure that you work with budget.  This will give you an opportunity to show kindness while making meals and snacks simple nutritious and attractive. You will help the team by meeting with the residents to identify their likes and dislikes and plan their menus accordingly. Every resident is different, and you will need to respect their individuality. We are all about creating a friendly, supportive environment - one where independence is promoted and the residents are free to make their own choices.

 

Ideally, you will have worked with elderly people before, including those with Dementia and physical disabilities. However, we are interested in people with a naturally caring attitude, with a passion for food, who is honest and holds a strong level of humility.
