We are looking for a Team Leader to provide guidance and support to our Housing Options Team, who are responsible for preventing or relieving homelessness under its statutory duties.
As an experienced housing professional, you will deliver excellent customer service with a positive “can-do” attitude. Leading a team of Housing Options Officers, you will ensure resources are allocated effectively and monitor closely the performance of the team in order to achieve agreed objectives and outcomes in relation to housing advice, homelessness and housing-related support.
You will be experienced in investigating the circumstances of customers who approach the Council for advice due to homelessness and an ability to communicate clearly with landlords and other accommodation providers, support agencies and other professionals involved with the customer with a focus on homelessness prevention.
The Council offers in return a generous flexi time scheme with the ability to take two flexi days a month, membership of the local government pension scheme, discounted health and leisure membership, plus many more excellent benefits. Woking Borough Council takes a robust approach to thoroughly checking anyone who has applied to work with vulnerable groups, including children.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for this post. An assessment may be required. If you have any queries or would like to discuss this further, please contact the Human Resources team.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Louise Strongitharm (Director of Housing) on 01483 743599 or Catherine Butler (Housing Needs Manager) on 01483 743618.
