Our large and growingInfrastructure Planning (IP) Service is an industry leader at the cuttingedge of infrastructure planning centred at the heart of great place making,spatial planning and delivery. We provide a core planning function to theCouncil coordinating the strategic planning, funding, development and deliveryof infrastructure with expertise in infrastructure planning, CIL, S106, projectand programme management. This is a fantastic opportunity for anaspiring planner to gain entry to the profession, exposure to planning anddevelop their career.

As part of the IP Service,you will be working on a varied work programme providing support to the Servicein the collection of CIL, monitoring of S106 planning obligations, and projectand programme management. You will gain exposure to key areas of infrastructureplanning including how the Council plans for, funds and programmesinfrastructure delivery. Your development will in turn be supported by a wealthof experienced officers and invested in by the Service with the objective ofone day becoming an RTPI eligible planner.



About You

As an aspiring planner, you will have:

  • a desire to become an RTPI eligible planner

  • a passion for placemaking

  • a willingness to learn and to try new things

  • an analytical mind with the technical skills to distil, communicate and extract key messages from data to present to others
