This role within the Housing Service presents an exciting opportunity for a Housing Maintenance Surveyor. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will assist in the delivery of an effective and responsive service to Havering residents in relation to repairs and maintenance requirements. This includes defect diagnosis; inspection and approval regimes, including damp and structural inspections; contractor/works supervision and H&S, determining the best options and resources available on a case by case basis. You will also assist the Maintenance Manager in providing an effective service relating to void properties, ensuring lettable standard is achieved and turn around times meet the corporate target and minimise rental losses. You will supervise works and health and safety to determine the best options and resources available on a case by case basis. You will be responsible for the monitoring and management of performance within the area of responsibility, ensuring that internal and external standards are met and improved upon, with the aim of achieving high resident satisfaction
You will be responsible for managing a case load, working with individuals and supporting and directing clients to access a broad range of housing services and, where appropriate, making relevant onward referrals and signpost to other services
You will have significant experience in working within a customer or property services organisation and possess a detailed understanding of housing maintenance processes and the maintenance and refurbishment sectors. You will be experienced in working on defined projects to tight deadlines with minimum supervision. Your excellent communication skills will be essential in positively handling contact with clients from a range of backgrounds. A driving licence is essential for this post.
