We are seeking to appoint a Commissioning Officer to support and work with the commissioners responsible for sexual health, substance misuse, and smoking. The public health challenges of working to address the diverse needs of the populations across both boroughs are significant. As a commissioning officer, you will work with a range of partner organisations, and make an important contribution to the development of work to reduce health inequalities and improve the health and wellbeing of the local population.

The post holder will also support the work on the development of public health policies, projects and programmes in liaison with colleagues and partner organisations. The post will support, as part of a wider team, the equitable, and evidence-based, delivery of priorities set out by both Camden’s and Islington’s Health and Wellbeing Boards.

You will bring a range of public health and commissioning competencies to the department. You should be able to demonstrate: strong communication, project management, general finance/budget skills and a good understanding of performance data.

* Please note: the post-holder will be employed by London Borough of Islington. However, he/she will be expected to work across both Camden (nearest station Kings Cross/St Pancras) and Islington (nearest station Highbury & Islington).
