We have Platinum Investors in People status and the feedback noted that staff were ‘universally proud to work for the council’. We are pleased to offer an opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Conservation Officer to join us, working in the Design and Conservation Team.
The Design and Conservation Team are responsible for providing sound expert advice on listed buildings, conservation and design aspects of planning applications to the Development Management Team, Councillors and members of the public. We also have a wide and varied work programme including the expansion of the Local List, updating of Conservation Area Appraisals, production of policy documents and the delivery of in-house training.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic team player with the ability to confidently deliver quality work efficiently and maintain and champion the reputation of the team. You will also be expected to use your knowledge of historic environment policy and experience of successful delivery to help shape the direction of the Team by supporting and mentoring colleagues and inputting into the Team’s work programme.
