Our large and growing Infrastructure Planning (IP)Service is an industry leader at the cuttingedge of infrastructure planning centred at the heart of great place making,spatial planning and delivery. We provide a core planning function to theCouncil coordinating the strategic planning, funding, development and deliveryof infrastructure with expertise in infrastructure planning, CIL, S106, projectand programme management. We have twofantastic opportunities for aspiringplanners to expand their expertise and develop their careers.

Growth &Infrastructure Planner – CIL & Infrastructure Planning

As part of the IP Service, you will be working on avaried work programme primarily focussed on facilitating the delivery of highquality infrastructure initiatives, strategies and analysis for the Isle ofDogs & South Poplar OA including the expansion of Canary Wharf. Thisinvolves building relationships and working with the GLA’s InfrastructureDelivery Coordination Team, TfL, infrastructure providers, key land owners/developers,and relevant Services Areas within the Council. You will also gain exposure toother key areas of infrastructure planning, including how the Council plansfor, funds and programmes infrastructure delivery.

Growth &Infrastructure Planner – S106 & Infrastructure Programmes

As part of the IP Service, you will be working on avaried work programme primarily focussed on coordinating the Council’sprogramme of infrastructure projects. You will be facilitating the delivery ofhigh quality infrastructure initiatives, developing a ground breaking PlanningObligations SPD, overseeing the implementation of S106 planning obligations,and engaging with key stakeholders, politicians and internal Service Areas. Youwill show initiative by proactively developing solutions and recommendationsfor the improvement and streamlining of delivering infrastructure through S106,CIL-In Kind and other funding mechanisms. You will also gain exposure to otherkey areas of infrastructure planning, including CIL and how the Council plansfor and funds infrastructure delivery.



About You

As an RTPI eligible planner, you will have:
  • aminimum of 2 years planning experience (or as required by your relevant routeto RTPI chartered membership)

  • apassion for placemaking

  • awillingness to learn, to try new things and to innovate

  • theability to communicate well, build relationships, bring people together anddeliver collaboratively across a wide range of key stakeholders

  • ananalytical mind with the technical skills to distil, communicate and extractkey messages from data to present to others
