Williamson Park is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join their passionate team in the bustling Pavilion Café. The café is open 7 days per week and offers an exciting menu using local suppliers and produce.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join our dedicated team. We are looking for someone who thrives in a busy atmosphere and works well under pressure.

Duties will include offering the highest standard of customers service whilst preparing and serving a range of beverages, operating the till and cleaning and tidying both the indoor and outdoor seating areas. Experience in the preparation and cooking of meals would be desirable.

There is also opportunity to work across departments including the ice cream concession within the park’s grounds, the Gift Shop and assisting in catering and bar work for weddings and events, including the Highest Point Festival and the Lancaster Grand Prix.

The successful candidates will have an understanding of the day to day operation of a busy café and be prepared to undertake their duties to the highest of standards. Barista trained would be desirable.

Earlier this year Lancaster City Council unanimously declared a climate emergency and will therefore work towards reducing carbon emissions to net-zero by 2030. As part of this role, you will be expected to participate and work towards reducing carbon emissions.

You will be based in the Pavilion Café set in beautiful listed grounds of Williamson Park.

As a casual worker, you will be paid only for the hours which you work.  The nature of casual work means that there is no mutuality of obligation.  This means that the Council is not obliged to offer you any hours and neither are you obligated to accept any hours offered. The Council cannot guarantee that work will be available every week.

Excellent benefits include: A Local Government Pension Scheme (the Council makes a 15.5% contribution). Discounted gym membership and discount on days out, activities and retail.
