Havering Adult College are now looking to recruit a full-time Marketing Officer to join the dynamic and creative team, and support, promote and lead on the service’s marketing strategy.

You will have responsibility for promoting the Havering Adult College brand and the services offered by the college through a variety of methods and means. These include design, management and production of all marketing materials including prospectuses, flyers, booklets as examples.
You will also have responsibility for managing campaigns that align with the requirements of the marketing strategy. This includes web-based and through social media.
Additionally, you will source marketing events that widen participation. With the responsibility for coordinating staff attendance and resources for these events, carrying out risk assessments as necessary.
You will be responsible for monitoring and overseeing the college’s virtual presence. This includes Havering Adult College’s dedicated website, LBH website, Course Directory and Google, as well as developing and overseeing the college’s Virtual Learning portal.
You will have an understanding of Equality and Diversity, and an appreciation of the requirements of teachers under the Safeguarding of Children & Vulnerable Adults regulations.
The successful candidate should hold the following essential criteria:
- GCSE A*- C English and maths qualifications (or equivalent)
- Experience of working within deadlines and budgets
- Experience of undertaking small and large scale marketing projects and campaigns that generate successful outcomes
- Experience of using a range of design software packages to produce high quality marketing materials, such as leaflets, booklets and prospectus
- Communicating professionally with a wider audience to generate interest in services
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Experience of managing events, which includes staffing and logistics
- Work towards a marketing strategy with key milestones
- Experience of managing web content and design
- Managing online content on various platforms
- Knowledge of the local area and the community
It would be useful for the candidate to also have the following desirable criteria:
- Experience of using Apple Mac and Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
- Have access to a vehicle with business use insurance
- Experience of using Wordpress for website
You must have the ability to work on your own initiative and have extensive knowledge and skills related to the area(s) of work you will be undertaking, specifically engaging with stakeholders, design of promotional materials, engaging with the public, and an appreciation of virtual marketing strategies, as well as an ability to manage your time and calendar effectively.

The pay scale for this post is G6. This equates to a minimum starting salary of £30,703.

You will be notified if your application has been successful and invited to an assessment day.
Successful candidates will be required to produce a presentation prior to attending.
The assessment and interview process will consist of three parts – a presentation, a design task and a formal interview.
The assessment day will be held on Thursday 16th January 2020.
